Fairswell is a woman-owned strategic branding studio in Northeast DC created by Lauren Hofer and Brittany Noetzel.
As longtime friends and design enthusiasts, we started collaborating in 2016 and quickly envisioned a partnership to collaborate with our experience and drive for excellence in design, small business, and marketing.
We believe in asking good questions and listening well. Our clients have great ideas, and we work hard to create elegant visuals that give them the confidence to get them out there. We opt for substance over pretense and durability over frill.
My background is in studio art. I earned my MFA from University of Maryland with a focus on painting and performative photography after several years’ experience in consulting and small business, with freelance client work on the side. My design aesthetic prioritizes both simplicity and depth. I create elegant solutions for complex and everyday problems, often by turning things on their side for a fresh perspective.
I live in Mt. Rainier, Maryland with my husband and two sons, in a quirky, 111-year-old bungalow.
I’ve spent over a dozen years in marketing for small businesses and nonprofits, with a focus on honing clear messages that build momentum. After running a retail storefront in NW DC, I started freelance consulting to support other small business owners with a vision for local impact. Partnering with Lauren to marry strategy, writing, and visuals for clients doing work that matters was my best move yet.
I live in Brookland with my husband, toddler, and emotionally needy mutt.
